CONSULTING and TRAINING
Community Works Institute offers a variety of ON SITE trainings and professional development for educators and organizations who are interested in establishing, improving, or expanding a service-learning initiative. Community Works Institute trainings are conducted by seasoned members of our nationally acclaimed Institute faculty. Community Works also offers an annual weeklong Institute during the summer months.

We will work with you to develop a customized training or presentation to meet your own school or organization's unique needs. (fee schedule available on request)

Summer Institutes
We design and provide accredited institutes for individual schools and for educational initiatives.

Community Works offers a series of "standard" workshops and presentations. We will work with your organization to help determine the best approach to the circumstances that are unique to your situation. Web Site Design and Development
We assist educational organizations and schools in telling their story through the use of on-line media. Our goal is to help represent innovative educational work. We support the process of both collecting and of telling the story. Technical supporte may take a variety of forms including: creation of a partnership that makes use of our Web site; providing development support for an organization in creating their own independent Web site; designing and building an organization's Web site from the ground up.

Reflection Workshops
We provide a general “how to” and creative innovations that can be geared to document specific activities, programs or a long-term effort.

Publishing for the Community with Students
Student publications that reach the entire community are an excellent way to provide meaningful service while enhancing academic learning. We draw from first hand experience with a number of school based examples.

Documentation, Program Evaluation & Publication
We provide support for documentation and publication, including print publication and Web site development. Our goal is to assist teachers, schools, and educational organizations in sharing their stories and teaching strategies with other educators.

Book Making Workshops
Work with an experienced bookmaker learning the art of hand made paper and the crafting of unique books that provide a wonderful support to the reflection process for program participants or students in the classroom.
